Chai Software is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy describes how the VRTV app handles information.
VRTV
VRTV is a local video player for Android that plays video files stored on your device or accessible over your local network. It does not require an account, does not collect a username or password, and does not transmit personal information about you or your configuration to Chai Software or any external party.
Information stored on your device
VRTV stores your local preferences and settings on your device. This includes things like:
- Playback and display settings.
- UI and control preferences.
- Local file paths of recently used media.
Local network features
VRTV can discover media servers on your local network (SMB/UPnP) and can synchronize playback between two devices over a local network connection. These features communicate only within your local network and are not used to transmit data to the internet.
Permissions
To play media, VRTV may request the following permissions:
- Storage / Media — to read the audio, video and image files you choose to play, and, where appropriate, access to all files for broad media support.
- Bluetooth — to support VR controllers and discovery.
- Internet and Wi-Fi state — to load media from network shares and, in the free version, to serve advertisements.
- Location — used only where required by a bundled library; VRTV does not use your location to track you.
Analytics and crash reporting
VRTV does not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. The app does not collect analytics about usage or device information.
Advertisement (free version)
The free version of VRTV uses Google’s AdMob advertising service to display banner advertisements. As part of serving ads, AdMob may use the advertising ID and related identifiers to deliver ads in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. You can manage your ad personalization choices in your device settings and at Google Ad settings. The paid version of VRTV contains no advertisements.
Personal data and sharing
Chai Software does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data through VRTV. Because VRTV does not transmit your personal information to Chai Software, there is no personal data for Chai Software to sell or share.
